Abigail Smith

Intern Therapist

From an early age, I found solace in being a trusted confidant for friends, siblings, and family members who sought a listening ear amid life's challenges. Now, as a graduate student immersed in the world of therapy, I have discovered that these innate qualities of empathy and understanding form the cornerstone of my therapeutic approach. Creating a therapy space that allows you to feel heard, respected, and safe is a priority of mine. Curating a space where individuals and families feel genuinely heard, respected, and safe is paramount. I strive to cultivate an environment where children and their loved ones can freely express themselves, knowing their voices and perspectives hold weight and meaning.

Each day, I am humbled by the resilience and strength exhibited by those I have the privilege to work with. Guiding clients through the intricate web of relational dynamics and supporting families as they navigate the unique journey of raising neurodiverse children brings me immense joy and fulfillment.

Grounded in my education in Marriage and Family therapy, I adopt a systemic mindset, exploring the intricacies of familial patterns and dynamics. Whether I am working with couples on improving communication, helping kids and teens navigate the challenges of growing up, or assisting families in fostering deeper connections, my ultimate goal is to provide a safe space where you can explore, learn, and grow. By observing the world around you, I seek to gain a deeper understanding of your life, forging genuine connections that underpin our therapeutic journey together.

Together, we embark on a path of learning, exploration, and growth, navigating life's complexities to uncover fulfilling connections and newfound resilience.

Abigail is an intern therapist from La Salle University being supervised by Lavonda Handy, LMFT, AAMFT Approved Supervisor
