Licensed Associate Therapist
Having grown up witnessing the complexities of dysfunctional family dynamics, I gained an early understanding of how deeply such experiences can impact individuals and families. These formative observations have shaped my commitment to helping families, individuals, and children navigate and overcome their challenges. As a therapist, my goal is to provide a compassionate and supportive environment where clients can gain insight into the emotional experiences they’ve encountered, while guiding them through the process of healing and restoring their lives, free from the constraints of past trauma.
In my practice, I prioritize creating a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental space for all clients. I aim to facilitate a shift in perspective, fostering healthier approaches to life’s challenges. I work with individuals who are open-minded, eager to grow, and willing to embrace change. These clients demonstrate curiosity, and a willingness to explore new perspectives, challenge ingrained habits, and take proactive steps toward self-improvement. Their openness and commitment to learning and growth make our work together both enriching and dynamic.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), addiction treatment, and a variety of family and individual therapeutic techniques. With these tools, I support clients in identifying underlying issues and in cultivating self-confidence, self-awareness, and self-esteem.
I believe that emotional healing is crucial for repairing relational deficits caused by mental health challenges, behavioral issues, addiction, and trauma. My commitment to supporting clients’ mental health and recovery is steadfast, and I am dedicated to walking alongside each individual on their journey toward healing.
Aliya is an associate licensed clinician and doctoral student working towards licensure hours for professional counseling. She is supervised by Lavonda Handy, LMFT.
