Carly Petroski

Carly Petroski, MFT

Licensed Associate Therapist

I’m a relational, down-to-earth therapist who believes most of us are doing the best we know how with what we’ve learned. Therapy with me is collaborative, affirming, and gently challenging. I bring warmth, humor, and honesty into the room, and I care deeply about helping you live in ways that feel more authentic and fulfilling.

In our work together, you will feel understood and able to be honest, while also being supported in taking responsibility for yourself and the relationships you’re part of. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just wanting a steady place to reflect, my hope is that you leave therapy with more agency, clarity, and choice.

As a sex therapist, I believe sexuality is an important part of being human. Sometimes that shows up as desire discrepancies, difficulty with intimacy, shame, preoccupation, or questions about identity. Sometimes it shows up more quietly. I approach diverse sexual and relational experiences without judgment and make space for the full range of who you are.

My work is grounded in an abolitionist-feminist framework that centers accountability and harm reduction. This means we look at patterns without shame, take responsibility where needed, and stay committed to growth that feels honest and sustainable.

I work with individuals, friends, couples, and families, with a particular passion for LGBTQ+ clients, women, people navigating ADHD, interracial couples, and those unpacking masculinity and cultural expectations. In couples work, I focus on helping partners clearly express needs and desires, listen without defensiveness, and move through conflict in ways that feel more manageable and less lonely.

As a queer and neurodivergent person, I believe there is no single right way to build a life. Therapy is not about fixing you. It’s about learning how to work with yourself instead of against yourself.

Carly is a pre-licensed clinician working towards hours for marriage and family therapy licensure. She is supervised by Lavonda Handy, LMFT
