Intern Therapist

Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be the change I wanted to see in the world. I always knew that change starts within. Being a support to my friends & family while they dealt with the daily struggles of life always made me value, respect, and cherish the humanity in all of us. I come from a world of adversity and can remember the times when I thought I would never overcome the internal and external battles that I was faced with. As time went on, as my faith stayed strong, and as I had family, friends, and therapeutic support to lean on, I became resilient and started to change my way of thinking so that I could change my behaviors to the barriers that I was being faced with. I hope that you will allow me to walk with you through any obstacles you are being faced with in life and allow me to guide you in building your resilience, watering your soul, and helping you achieve your vision of your best possible self/life.

Now that I am a Marriage & Family Therapy Graduate Student and have had the privilege of being exposed to different perspectives and cultures, I understand the importance of inclusivity and how vital it is because it ensures that all individuals, families, and couples, regardless of their background, identity, or cultural context, feel welcomed, respected, and understood in the therapeutic space, leading to better therapeutic outcomes by fostering a sense of belonging. When working with families and couples, I adopt a systemic approach to therapy. I intend to foster healthy communication, the ability to distinguish between one’s thoughts and feelings, and to maintain a sense of self while in the presence of others within the family unit by recognizing and resolving multigenerational issues and emotional triangles within the family system & analyzing recurring patterns of behavior and emotional interactions across generations.

My ultimate goal is to work with families, couples, and individuals who are ready to take a step toward change in their lives, who are ready to do the work, who are ready to embark on a new journey, and to provide them with a safe space to do so. One of my favorite quotes is “What

You Are Not Changing, You’re Choosing”. I hope that you choose me to walk with you on your new path toward change & growth. Together we’ll laugh if we need to, cry if we need to, unravel if we need to but ultimately put the pieces back together while watering your spirit until you’ve blossomed into the person/people that you’ve always envisioned.
